The 2005 New Year Open is being played online at
Everyone will be separated into sections of eight (8), playing one game with white and one game with
black simultaneously against all other opponents (14 games per player).
The time control allows you 96 hours (4 days) per move, with "weekend time" not counting. THERE IS NO ENTRANCE
FEE FOR THIS EVENT with a $500 First Prize up for grabs. 2nd Prize is $300, and there will be additional
prizes of $50 for each person who finishes first in their section of eight players. Winners of each section will advance
to the next round. The top finisher among the section winners will be given the $500 first prize in addition to the $50
prize for winning the section.
